Learning is like rowing upstream:  not to advance
is to drop back.  ~Chinese Proverb
It's been a great first year for BCL, and I want to humbly thank you for your comments, support, and loyal readership.

I started Becky Cooks Lightly in November 2010 as a way of learning my way around the kitchen, and boy have I ever learned a lot! I realize now how much was missing in my life before I learned to cook. I absolutely love it.

I'm still working full-time as a GIS Analyst and have one more semester as a grad student (Environmental Management), but I can see myself putting it all aside someday to concentrate on sustainable light cooking and writing cookbooks. Until then, well, I'll keep rowing upstream.

As my first year ends, I want to share the top twenty most viewed recipes. Some of your favorites surprised me (Oven Roasted Chestnuts, Slow Cooker Zucchini Casserole at #1), and some of my own favorites didn't make the list (Spring Strawberry Dumplings, Guilt-Free Cream Cheese Brownies,  Broiled Macaroni and Cheese with Tomato). In all honesty, they're all number one in my cookbook. I hope you enjoyed all the recipes this year, and I look forward to sharing many more in 2012.
